At the meeting the folowing officers were elected, Chairman: E. Butler,  Secretary: Tim McSweeny, Treasurer: P Ryan, P.R.O.: W. Duffy. We had three members showing when we decided to go for the first open show. Our show was held on the 9th & 10th January 1993 at Cobh VEC.

The judges at the show were, P. Cooke (Thurles), P. Grace (Kilkenny), T. Heffernan, J. Horgan, E. Butler, W. Walshe and J. Desmond all from Cork. There was over a thousand birds entered at the show, and it was very well supported. The Cobh show has the name of being one of the top bird show in Ireland. The following are some of our local breeders and the Canaries they breed. Tim McSweeney has foreign birds, Noel and David Perryman breed Irish Fancy, John and Susan Lynch have Lizards and Irish Fancy.

The Society has members from Midleton, Tim Watson who with his son Karl has some top winning birds. Tim also a top judge, he is regularly invited to judge shows the length and breath of Ireland and England at the British national shows.

On then to Youghal where we have John Kiely a  Red Factor canary breeder and judge. Brendan O'Brien also a Fancy man. Bernard is also on the judges panel and chairman of Irsh Fancy Society.

Cobh man Dick Perryman is always available and willing to help out at our shows.

Great Island Motors is our main sponsor, with thanks to Ray Mills and Son.
